Nursery Support Assistants – Flexible Hours in York! Perfect for Students & Part-Time Workers

We’re recruiting on behalf of two friendly nurseries in York – one in the city centre and one on the outskirts – looking for enthusiastic Nursery Support Assistants to join their teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone passionate about working with children and seeking flexible, rewarding hours, ideal for students or those looking for part-time work.

Locations: City centre & outskirts of York
Hours: Flexible shifts between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday – Friday
Type: Ad-hoc, part-time, or regular shifts available
Pay: £13.68–£14.00 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting nursery staff in delivering high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5
  • Engaging with children through play, fostering development and well-being
  • Assisting with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play
  • Helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Following safeguarding and health & safety regulations

Who We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in childcare or a nursery setting is a plus, but not essential
  • Passionate about supporting children’s growth and learning
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to different nursery environments
  • Strong communication skills and a team player
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
