Whether you're an experienced Purchasing Assistant ready for your first Buyer position or an Assistant Buyer looking to develop your procurement career, this role offers the opportunity to join a growing electronics manufacturer where you'll receive ongoing support from an experienced Procurement Manager. Castle Manufacturing are working in partnership with a specialist electronics manufacturing business to recruit a Buyer to join the procurement team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review MRP and demand requirements to identify component needs
- Raise purchase orders and manage supplier delivery performance
- Expedite orders to support production schedules
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Support pricing negotiations and cost control activity
- Manage supplier returns and resolve delivery issues
- Manage RFQs and support accurate, timely quotations
- Develop and maintain costing models to support pricing accuracy
- Work with Sales and Engineering on commercially viable proposals
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, buying or supply chain roles
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with suppliers and internal teams
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems
- Strong Excel and data capability
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Desirable Experience
- Manufacturing, engineering or electronics background
- Exposure to costing, estimating or technical components
- Experience supporting supplier negotiation or sourcing activity
