We are recruiting four Production Operatives to join a well-established manufacturing business operating a mill in Murton due to continued growth. This is a process-driven, plant-based role working within a close-knit shift team. You will have real autonomy on shift, taking ownership of production runs, monitoring plant performance and ensuring quality standards are met. This is not a repetitive line role. It would suit someone comfortable working with machinery, automation systems and live production environments where attention to detail and accountability matter.
Responsibilities of Production Operative:
- Monitor plant machinery and production processes from the operations control room
- Start and stop production runs in line with the production schedule
- Adjust batching ratios and oversee mixing and pelleting processes
- Respond to alarms, faults and process deviations
- Escalate technical issues to the on-call engineering team where required
- Manage intake of raw materials, including sampling, testing and accurate documentation
- Monitor temperature and pressure levels across the plant
- Carry out routine equipment checks and maintain high housekeeping standards
- Follow strict health, safety and quality procedures
The right candidate for the role will have confidence working with machinery, strong attention to detail, and strong hands-on skills.
