Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Pickering area
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:00am - 5:30pm
Contract: 40 hours per week
Salary: £19.70 per hour/ £41,000
We are recruiting for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing business in the Pickering area, supporting the reliability and performance of plant and equipment across site. This is a hands‑on role focused on reactive breakdown response, planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across site equipment
- Diagnose faults and complete mechanical and basic electrical repairs
- Support plant rebuilds, installations and equipment upgrades
- Welding and fabrication work as required
- Manufacture or modify replacement parts using workshop machinery
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and documented through the CMMS system
- Work collaboratively with production and wider site teams to minimise downtime
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
- Strong mechanical maintenance skills with some electrical competency
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Good fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability
- Comfortable using maintenance systems and completing maintenance records
- Flexible approach with willingness to support overtime when required
Desirable Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Lathe and milling experience
- 18th Edition electrical qualification
- Experience with CAD or SolidWorks
- Exposure to automation or robotic systems
