Our client is a leading manufacturer in a period of rapid growth through smart investment, innovation, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
We’re looking for an IT Support & Cyber Security Engineer who can take ownership of the company’s systems, strengthen cyber security, and drive efficiencies across the business. You’ll work closely with the Managing Director, supported by external IT partners, ensuring systems run smoothly and securely while helping to shape future IT strategy.
The Role
This is a hands-on, varied position where you’ll lead IT operations, cyber security, and continuous improvement projects across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Cyber Essentials Plus
- Developing and enforcing IT security policies and procedures
- Ensuring data, network and storage systems remain secure and compliant
- Managing data backups, disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Conducting IT audits, identifying risks, and presenting improvement recommendations
- Overseeing daily operations of IT infrastructure and business systems, including ERP, CRM, CAD/CAM, BMS, and telephony
- Partnering with external IT providers to manage upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting
- Leading and supporting IT projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for automation and process improvement
- Evaluating new technologies to support business growth and efficiency
- Delivering IT and cyber awareness training across the organisation
- Mentoring and developing a junior IT team member
About You
You’ll be a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment. You’ll combine technical expertise with a practical, business-minded approach.
You’ll bring
- Proven experience in IT support, infrastructure and systems management
- Strong understanding of cyber security best practice and Cyber Essentials Plus
- Experience overseeing multiple IT systems or ERP integrations
- Ability to manage and deliver IT projects from concept to completion
- A continuous improvement mindset — spotting opportunities for efficiency and automation
- Confidence mentoring or coaching others in IT processes and systems
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, can-do attitude
