Are you passionate about food safety, quality, and compliance within a food manufacturing environment? We are looking for an experienced Quality & Hygiene Coordinator to support the Technical team in maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, quality, and audit compliance across the site. This is a hands‑on role with a strong factory presence, ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in day‑to‑day operations while driving continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the QA team with day‑to‑day quality decisions and factory‑based problem solving
  • Coordinating hygiene activities across the site, ensuring cleaning schedules and standards are maintained
  • Managing hygiene documentation, cleaning procedures, deep cleans, and pest control activities
  • Supporting BRCGS, HACCP, food safety, and compliance requirements
  • Conducting GMP, hygiene, and internal audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed
  • Investigating non‑conformances, customer complaints, and quality incidents, identifying root causes and implementing improvements
  • Working closely with production teams to maintain food safety and quality standards

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience within Quality and Hygiene in a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, COSHH, food safety legislation, and GMP standards
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to build relationships across all levels of the business
  • Strong IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Food Safety and Hygiene qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hygiene: Coordinate site cleaning activities and hygiene schedules, including daily, weekly, monthly, and deep‑clean programmes; Manage cleaning chemicals and hygiene documentation; Liaise with pest control providers and ensure actions are completed
  • Quality Assurance: Support production teams with quality-related queries and decisions; Conduct audits, inspections, and factory checks; Monitor product quality and food safety standards
  • HACCP & Compliance: Support the HACCP Team Leader and wider Technical function; Maintain food safety documentation and compliance records; Ensure site activities meet legal, customer, and certification requirements
  • Continuous Improvement: Investigate customer complaints, non‑conformances, and quality issues; Complete root cause analysis and implement corrective actions; Support initiatives to improve standards and reduce waste
  • Audit Readiness: Carry out GMP and hygiene audits across the site; Monitor corrective actions and ensure completion; Support external audits and customer visits

Key Requirements & Skills:

  • Proven experience within a Quality and/or Hygiene role in food manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, COSHH, food safety regulations, and hygiene practices
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Confident working both on the factory floor and within the Technical team
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
  • Food Safety and Hygiene qualifications desirable
