Are you a Health & Safety professional looking for a role where you can make a real impact across a busy FMCG manufacturing site? We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Lead to join a well‑established manufacturing business. Reporting into the Operations Director, this role will support the ongoing development of Health & Safety standards, systems, and culture across the site. This is a hands‑on role working closely with operational teams to improve engagement, maintain compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and drive Health & Safety improvements across site
- Maintain and update Health & Safety systems and documentation
- Promote a proactive and positive safety culture
- Support audits, investigations, and compliance activities
- Work closely with managers and teams across the business
- Liaise with external bodies including HSE and insurers
- Monitor incidents, trends, and improvement opportunities
- Support training and day‑to‑day H&S activities across site
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience within a Health & Safety role in manufacturing or FMCG
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Good understanding of H&S legislation and compliance
- Ability to influence and support teams across departments
- Proactive and continuous improvement mindset
- NEBOSH Certificate essential
- NEBOSH Diploma desirable but not essential
This role would suit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor looking for more ownership and autonomy within a manufacturing environment. Easily commutable from Whitby, Scarborough, Pickering, Malton, Guisborough, Redcar, Middlesbrough, Northallerton and surrounding areas.
