Position: Health & Safety Co-ordinator – Civil Engineering / Construction

Monday – Friday, 7:30 – 17:00

40hrs per week

PBS Construction are a Hull based business and they specialise in building, civil engineering and utility installations. Their works span within a 100 mile radius of Hull (mostly) spreading from Boston in the South to Middlesbrough in the North and Bradford at the West.

About the role:

This is an opportunity to join the safety department of the PBS team. The successful individual will carry out safety inspections at construction sites and generate reports thereafter. The inspections are to be carried out in a systematic manner building positive relations with those involved including PBS employees and Client’s Representatives. They will assist and complete safety documentation including Construction Phase Plans and Risk Assessments / Method statements for future schemes. They will also be tasked with planning and booking training courses and co-ordinating with other PBS employees as well as general H&S administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out safety inspections at construction sites and generate reports thereafter.
  • Build positive relations with PBS employees and Client’s Representatives.
  • Assist and complete safety documentation including Construction Phase Plans and Risk Assessments / Method statements for future schemes.
  • Plan and book training courses and co-ordinate with other PBS employees as well as general H&S administration.

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH – GC and / or CCSM
  • SMSTS (desirable)
  • Streetworks Supervisor (desirable)
  • Driving license (required)

About the individual:

The successful individual will have construction site experience to a Site Supervisor or Site Management level with a clear understanding of Safety at construction sites. A proactive and hardworking attitude, demonstrating dedication and efficiency to ensure continual improvement of safety at construction sites. They will have the ability to communicate both verbally and via email with some literacy in Microsoft Word and XL Documents.
