Overview

We are seeking Food Production Operatives to join a growing food manufacturing business in the York area. This is a hands-on role working with raw and cooked products across different stages of the production process, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract after a successful temporary period.

Responsibilities

  • Handle raw meat and load into slicing and seasoning machines
  • Lay products onto racks ready for cooking
  • Move cooked products into smoking and cooling areas
  • Operate machinery to chop and portion products ready for packing
  • Weigh and seal bags using packaging equipment
  • Support general production and packing duties across the site
  • Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times

The right candidate for this Food Production Operative role will have

  • The ability to drive (essential, due to location)
  • Willingness to handle raw meat
  • Previous experience in a food production environment (preferred, but full training can be provided)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
  • Teamworking skills and a reliable work ethic

This is a full-time temp-to-perm role working Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern: 6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm (rotating every two weeks). The pay rate is £13.21 per hour.

You’ll be joining a small, family-oriented team with great staff perks, including two paid breaks and a buffet lunch every Friday.
