An established and growing business in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, is looking to welcome a 1st Line IT Support Technician to its internal IT team. Offering a salary of £25,000 - £28,000 and Monday to Friday hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week), this is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills within a supportive and forward-thinking IT environment. This is far more than a traditional helpdesk role. You'll provide first-line support to users across the business while gaining hands-on exposure to infrastructure, networking, virtualisation and security technologies. Working alongside experienced IT professionals, you'll have the opportunity to develop your technical skills and build a long-term career within a supportive environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing 1st Line IT support to users across the business, with opportunities to assist on 2nd Line support issues
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and user account issues
- Supporting Windows 11 desktops and laptops
- Assisting with Windows Server and Hyper-V administration
- Supporting networking infrastructure and Wi-Fi connectivity
- Helping maintain SonicWall firewalls and endpoint security solutions
- Supporting Android tablets, CCTV, access control and time and attendance systems
- Assisting with IT infrastructure maintenance and continuous improvement projects
- Delivering excellent face-to-face and remote customer support
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in an IT support environment
- Enjoys solving problems and delivering excellent customer service
- Exposure to Windows 11, Windows Server, Hyper-V, Networking fundamentals, Hardware support and troubleshooting, General IT infrastructure, Endpoint security solutions
- Experience with SonicWall firewalls, CCTV or access control systems would be beneficial but isn’t essential, as training and development will be provided.
