Castle Education are working closely with a small village primary school, on the outskirts of york, who are looking for a reliable School Cook to join their team as soon as possible.

The Role

As a School Cook, you will:

• Prepare and serve meals for pupils and staff
• Take responsibility for safe and hygienic food preparation
• Be mindful of food allergies and dietary requirements
• Manage your time effectively to ensure meals are prepared and served on time
• Work independently and use your own initiative
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
• Work as part of the wider school team to support pupils and staff

The role is approximately 6 hours per day, with the school happy to be flexible around start and finish times.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience in food preparation or catering
• Holds, or is willing to obtain, a Food Hygiene Certificate
• Understands the importance of food safety and allergy awareness
• Has excellent time management and organisation skills
• Can work independently and take initiative
• Is reliable, responsible and confident managing their own workload
