We are currently recruiting SEN and SEMH Learning Support Assistants to work on a long-term basis for the full academic year from September 2026. These roles are based across specialist SEN and SEMH settings in Scarborough and offer the opportunity to build strong, consistent relationships with pupils and staff. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and wider support teams to help pupils access learning, manage behaviour positively, and thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs
  • Support pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation techniques
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
  • Support inclusion across classrooms and wider school environments
  • Monitor, record, and feedback on pupil progress and wellbeing
