We are currently recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to work in a welcoming primary school in Leeds from September 2026. This role is ideal for a teacher who understands the important transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1 and can provide a structured, supportive, and nurturing learning environment that helps pupils develop confidence and independence.

Your responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Year 1 lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Support pupils through the transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1, establishing routines and expectations
  • Differentiating learning to meet a range of abilities, including pupils with SEND
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the SENCO to support pupil progress
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and consistently

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Year 1 (or strong KS1 experience)
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and adaptability
