Castle Education is seeking a committed Primary Classroom Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Kirkbymoorside area.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to help create a positive and engaging classroom experience for primary-aged pupils. You’ll support the class teacher with daily learning activities, encourage children to participate and help pupils build the confidence to tackle new challenges.
Working across KS1 and KS2, you’ll be an important part of the school team, helping children feel settled, included and ready to learn.
Key Duties
- Support pupils with classroom learning and daily activities.
- Assist teachers with lesson resources and preparation.
- Provide one-to-one and small group assistance where required.
- Encourage pupils to develop independence and positive learning habits.
- Help create a calm, safe and inclusive classroom.
- Support children’s social development and emotional wellbeing.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience with children is desirable.
- A friendly, patient and supportive approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to follow guidance and adapt to pupils’ needs.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s education.
