Castle Education is proud to be working in partnership with a well‑established Multi Academy Trust to recruit compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a number of their primary schools in York from September.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative trust that is committed to providing outstanding support for children with additional needs.
You will have the opportunity to work within welcoming school communities, supported by experienced leadership teams who place inclusion, staff development, and pupil wellbeing at the heart of everything they do.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will
- Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a one‑to‑one basis and in small groups.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external professionals.
- Encourage independence while celebrating every achievement.

- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- Is patient, caring and resilient.
- Builds positive relationships with children and colleagues.
- Has excellent communication skills.
- Is proactive, flexible and enthusiastic.
- Has a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
