Make a Real Difference Every Day. At Castle Craig, we believe that recovery is possible for everyone. We are looking for passionate and experienced psychotherapists to join our dedicated team and support individuals on their journey to overcoming addiction and rebuilding their lives. You will work in a compassionate and clinically robust setting alongside doctors, therapists, and support staff within a service that has been a leader in residential addiction treatment for over 35 years.
What You Will Be Doing: In this role, you will be a core part of our therapeutic team, supporting patients through some of the most significant moments of their recovery journey. From the very beginning of the patient journey, you will carry out detailed biopsychosocial assessments to help shape individualised treatment plans tailored to each person’s needs. You will deliver therapy across a range of formats, including one-to-one sessions, group work, and family therapy, in a setting where compassion, safety, and trust are central to the healing process for patients and families. Your week may also include supporting our continuing care teletherapy programme, as well as taking part in our weekend therapy rota. You will keep thorough, confidential records in accordance with professional standards and will work closely with referrers to coordinate seamless care across every stage of a patient’s treatment, including follow-ups with referral sources.
At Castle Craig, we believe in continual learning and professional development. You will be encouraged to keep up to date with emerging research and best practices in psychotherapy, and you will have regular opportunities to reflect on your work through supervision and clinical training.
Here’s What We Are Looking For: You will be a dedicated therapist with a recognised qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or a related field, and registration or accreditation with a recognised professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, COSCA, BABCP, AP). You will also bring:
- Significant experience delivering psychotherapy or counselling in a clinical setting
- The ability to build rapport with people from all walks of life
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on active listening
- A strong sense of ethics and understanding of mental health legislation
- A team mindset with the ability to also work independently
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
For Level 3 Therapists: Registered with an accrediting body (AP, COSCA, BACP, BABCP), working towards full accreditation, able to carry a full caseload after a supported induction. Supervision and training provided toward full accreditation.
For Level 4 Specialist Therapists: Fully accredited (AP, BACP, BABCP, COSCA, UKCP, HCPC, or equivalent), developing specialist competencies in areas such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, gambling, sex addiction, eating disorders, psychosocial admissions assessment, etc.
Here’s What We Offer: We know that looking after our staff helps us deliver the best care for our patients. As part of our team, you will benefit from:
- A supportive, highly experienced multi-disciplinary team
- Company pension contribution
- Free lunch and refreshments on-site
- Free parking
- Free use of the hospital gym
- Sick pay
- In-service training and CPD opportunities
- Discounts in our on-site shop
Schedule: You will work 8-hour shifts on the day shift, typically Monday to Friday, but with weekend availability as necessary.
