Castell Howell Foods is Wales’ leading independent food service wholesaler, servicing the length and breadth of Wales, the Border Counties and the South West of England. We currently have a vacancy for a Warehouse & Till Operative based at our Cash & Carry in Carmarthen.
The role of a Warehouse & Till Operative is to assist customers in the store, serve at checkouts, maintain well stocked shelves and maintain a clean, tidy and safe environment. Duties include:
- Replenish the warehouse as required, ensure stock is always available for customers and pickers
- Complete daily records and reports accurately
- Ensure customers’ orders are scanned and picked promptly and accurately
- Assist customers around the store
- Serve customers on the checkouts promptly and accurately
- Rotating stock and check ‘best before’ dates
- Operate a fork lift truck (if applicable)
- Clean and maintain the warehouse in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines
- Assist in stock taking duties when required
Who are we looking for:
- A team player who can also work independently when required
- Someone who demonstrates attention to detail
- No previous experience is required as full training will be provided
- You should consider yourself physically fit
- Have basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Be prepared to work in a cold store at -20 (full protective equipment is provided)
What we offer:
- A full-time position contracted to 41 hours per week. Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30. Plus, 1 in 3 weeks you will work until 19:30 on Monday and Thursday + Saturday 8.30-12:30 and Sunday 09:30-12:30. You will work 4 days the following week.
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays. You may be required to work some Bank Holidays.
