Job Description

Transport SupervisorLeeds£32,000 – £35,000 + Benefits

Our client is a growing Logistics business with a national network. We are supporting in their recruitment for a Transport Supervisor on a 4 on 4 off rota. Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for optimising multi-temp distribution operations and ensuring excellent customer service. The role involves management of drivers and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role works on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 6:30 – 18:30.Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with legislative safety standards and processes for personnel and vehicles. This includes maintenance and record management.
  • Ensure O'License compliance – truck maintenance, defect reporting, tachograph compliance etc.
  • Execution of daily operational plan in accordance with customer expectations and KPI's
  • Day to day driver management, including supervising daily activities of drivers and shift brief/ de-brief
  • Providing suggestions for productivity improvements and coaching drivers.
  • Maintaining contact with and acting as a key contact point for drivers.
  • Managing and following up on driver and vehicle reports, customer complaints and run outs.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in Transport
  • Demonstrable experience managing team of drivers
  • A background working in multi-temp and/or 3PL environments would be highly desirable
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
  • System-savvy, including experience using various TMS and Excel
  • Excellent communications skills
