About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Airfreight Business Development Manager to join a fast-growing international logistics business with an ambitious growth strategy.
This is a commercially focused role for someone with a strong freight forwarding background who enjoys winning new business, developing client relationships and building a sales pipeline from the ground up.
You will have the autonomy to identify new opportunities, engage prospective customers and develop long-term commercial relationships, working closely with an experienced leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and generate new business opportunities through proactive lead generation and cold calling.
- Build, manage and convert a strong sales pipeline.
- Develop new and existing customer relationships through face-to-face meetings, telephone and online communication.
- Understand customer requirements and develop effective logistics solutions to meet their needs.
- Present the company's freight forwarding and logistics services to prospective and existing clients.
- Work towards and exceed agreed sales and revenue targets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a high level of customer service and successful delivery of solutions.
- Stay informed on market developments and identify opportunities for further growth.
About You
The successful candidate will have
- 3+ years' experience within freight forwarding, ideally with a strong airfreight background.
- Proven experience in new business development and winning new clients.
- A confident and professional telephone manner.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with a tenacious, target-driven approach.
- The ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good IT skills, including spreadsheet and CRM systems.
- A flexible approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
