Job Description HSE Manager We are working with a successful organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced HSE Manager to lead its Health, Safety and Environmental agenda onsite at their operation in Cornwall. This is a senior role combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational responsibility, with a strong focus on maintaining high standards of health and safety, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with site leadership teams and wider stakeholders to develop a strong safety culture, improve HSE performance and ensure consistent standards across the organisation. The role is Monday to Friday and based onsite. Translate strategic HSE objectives into clear site-level goals, action plans and measurable KPIs. Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance and embed a strong safety culture across the organisation. Ensure compliance with UK and European HSE legislation, regulations, policies and organisational standards. Lead the management, reporting and investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses, including root cause analysis. Oversee risk assessments, safe systems of work and controls for high-risk activities and hazardous environments. Lead environmental and sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and improve performance. Coordinate HSE activity across multiple sites, ensuring actions and improvements are delivered within agreed timescales. Manage HSE audits, inspections, compliance reviews and corrective actions, ensuring findings are closed effectively. Oversee contractor HSE management, including site requirements, permits-to-work and compliance with safety standards. Provide visible HSE leadership, challenge unsafe behaviours, promote accountability and report performance, risks and trends to senior leadership and external stakeholders. Previous experience in a senior HSE management role. Experience managing HSE across multiple sites is highly desirable. Professional HSE qualification, such as CMIOSH or equivalent. Strong knowledge of relevant HSE legislation and regulatory frameworks. Proven experience working within COMAH and DSEAR regulatory frameworks. Experience managing risk within complex operational environments. Strong understanding of incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
