Our client, a global freight forwarder, is looking to recruit an experienced Air Freight Supervisor to join their dynamic team based in Manchester.
In this role, you'll be responsible for managing air freight export operations from end to end, ensuring all shipments are processed efficiently and in full compliance with UK and international regulations. This is a fast-paced position suited to someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling full-cycle air freight export shipments from booking to final delivery
- Preparing all necessary export documentation including AWBs, commercial invoices, and customs declarations
- Coordinating with airlines, overseas agents, hauliers, and clients to ensure timely movement of goods
- Ensuring compliance with all HMRC and international export regulations
- Providing shipment tracking and status updates to clients
- Maintaining accurate files and job records
- Invoicing clients and checking third-party costs
- Liaising with internal departments to ensure smooth operational flow
- Handling Dangerous Goods shipments where applicable (training provided if required)
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an air export or freight forwarding role
- Strong understanding of air freight processes and documentation
- Experience with customs clearance procedures and systems
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Cargowise and freight forwarding systems
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- IATA Dangerous Goods qualification is a plus but not essential
