As Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the seamless receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
This role is more than just managing logistics, it's about driving efficiency, leading people, and optimising processes and systems to keep everything moving safely, effectively, and on time.
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll manage a team of Supervisors, Team Leaders etc, ensuring best-in-class service to a variety of customer accounts.
Typically you'll work Monday to Friday days, with some flexibility required in line with business & customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all warehouse operations including; goods-in, inventory control, returns-processing and dispatch.
- Produce and analyse warehouse reports, looking at variances and making corrective actions.
- Manage labour in terms of recruitment of temporary staff, ensuring that total labour costs meet budget and forecasts.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, offering both structured and feedback.
- Maintain strong adherence to Warehouse Management System (WMS) standards and procedures.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth cross functional collaboration.
- Keep the warehouse team well informed on company objectives, operational updates, and overall performance.
- Drive initiatives that focus on process optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Step into higher management responsibilities when required, covering for absence or annual leave.
- Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working at Operations Manager level within Warehousing, ideally in a 3PL environment.
- Experience of multi-user sites is preferred.
- Strong people leader with proven record of developing Supervisors, Team Leaders.
- Problem-solving mindset, with demonstrable experience of driving change across operations.
- Strong H&S focus and adherence to regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with ability to influence at all levels.
- Proficiency of Warehouse Management Systems.
