The Role

Reporting into senior operational leadership, you will have overall accountability for warehouse and transport operations, site facilities, budgets and operational performance. Leading a team of operational managers and frontline colleagues, you will be responsible for delivering high levels of service, driving efficiencies, maintaining compliance and developing a high-performing culture across the site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full leadership of warehouse and transport operations
  • Ownership of operational budgets and cost control
  • Driving productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Leading, developing and coaching management teams
  • Ensuring customer service and operational KPIs are achieved
  • Managing resource planning across the operation
  • Maintaining compliance across Health & Safety, transport and site facilities
  • Supporting business growth through operational excellence and strong stakeholder engagement
  • Producing operational reports and performance analysis for senior management

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager position within logistics, distribution, warehousing or FMCG environments
  • Strong warehouse and transport management experience
  • Experience managing large operational teams through direct reports
  • Commercial awareness with budget and P&L responsibility
  • A track record of improving operational performance and driving continuous improvement
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and operational compliance requirements
  • The ability to influence, motivate and develop teams at all levels
  • Experience within a high-volume, fast-moving distribution environment would be highly advantageous.
