The Role
Reporting into senior operational leadership, you will have overall accountability for warehouse and transport operations, site facilities, budgets and operational performance. Leading a team of operational managers and frontline colleagues, you will be responsible for delivering high levels of service, driving efficiencies, maintaining compliance and developing a high-performing culture across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full leadership of warehouse and transport operations
- Ownership of operational budgets and cost control
- Driving productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
- Leading, developing and coaching management teams
- Ensuring customer service and operational KPIs are achieved
- Managing resource planning across the operation
- Maintaining compliance across Health & Safety, transport and site facilities
- Supporting business growth through operational excellence and strong stakeholder engagement
- Producing operational reports and performance analysis for senior management
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager position within logistics, distribution, warehousing or FMCG environments
- Strong warehouse and transport management experience
- Experience managing large operational teams through direct reports
- Commercial awareness with budget and P&L responsibility
- A track record of improving operational performance and driving continuous improvement
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and operational compliance requirements
- The ability to influence, motivate and develop teams at all levels
- Experience within a high-volume, fast-moving distribution environment would be highly advantageous.
