Purpose of Role

To support the effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Group Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System across multiple foundry sites.

The role will ensure compliance with UK legislation, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, and internal company policies.

The HSE Administration manager will provide coordination, reporting, and administrative support to enhance health, safety and environmental performance across the William Cook Group.

Key Accountabilities

  • Administer and maintain the Group Health, Safety and Environmental Management System, ensuring consistency and compliance across all sites.
  • Promote good health, safety and environmental practices throughout the organisation.
  • Support sites in complying with UK health & safety, environmental and employment legislation.
  • Assist in the review and update of HSE policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Review risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSo W), ensuring they remain current and effective.
  • Support the coordination of training programmes, including health & safety training and competency records.
  • Assist in the management and coordination of occupational health surveillance programmes.
  • Collate HSE data from all sites, producing accurate reports, KPIs, and trend analysis.
  • Develop charts and graphical data presentations to support management decision-making.
  • Minute Group Health & Safety meetings and distribute actions in a timely manner.
  • Support incident reporting processes, ensuring records are maintained and trends identified.
  • Assist in internal and external audits and inspections against ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with site management teams to ensure continuous improvement in HSE performance.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Group HSE Director.
  • Travel occasionally to other company sites using pool vehicles as required.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.
  • Job Requirements
  • Knowledge of HSE policies, procedures and management system.
  • Working knowledge of auditing processes and protocols.
  • Proficient in computer based systems and software.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety & Environmental Legislation and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of corporate incident reporting requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety, Environmental and Employment legislation.
  • Understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Experience in a similar HSE or administrative role (ideally within heavy engineering or manufacturing).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular for data analysis and reporting).
  • Experience in data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Good organisational and document control skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General certificate
  • NEBOSH Diploma (Advantageous)
  • IEMA Foundation Certificate (Or equivalent)
  • CIPD Level 3 In human resources management (advantageous)
  • General Aptitude
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive and able to take initiative in supporting HSE activities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Positive, flexible and team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Professional and confident communicator at all levels of the organisation.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally between sites
  • Working Hours & Salary
  • Hours 07.30 – 16.00 Monday to Friday
  • Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
  • Location Sheffield (with occasional travel to other sites).
