CassonX are delighted to be supporting this highly respected International Banking institution in the search for a Credit Manager – Corporate & Institutional Banking. This London branch plays a critical role within the Group’s global operations, offering services across Private Banking, Wholesale Banking, and Treasury. Having built a longstanding partnership with this client, CassonX are well-placed to speak to the collaborative, forward-thinking culture that defines the business, despite the evolving regulatory landscape faced by smaller, specialist banks. Note this role is 1 day in office and 4 from home.
To be considered for this role, you will need proven experience in credit risk within Corporate and Institutional Banking, ideally with exposure to Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending. Demonstrating a deep understanding of banking credit processes and Commercial Real Estate lending models, you will have strong knowledge of the end-to-end credit process, including writing and presenting credit applications, portfolio monitoring, and interacting with key internal and external stakeholders. Experience working with systems such as Moody’s Risk Analyst and Bloomberg is highly desirable.
The London Corporate & Institutional Banking team supports both Corporate Banking and Institutional client pools, with product coverage including Global Transaction Banking, Structured Trade Finance, and Real Estate Finance. The successful individual will work closely with relationship managers and senior management, taking ownership of credit processes, monitoring frameworks, and reporting for the Bank’s C&IB risk portfolio.
Some responsibilities include:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain monitoring infrastructure for the C&IB credit portfolio, including Commercial Real Estate metrics.
- Own and drive the full credit process from origination to approval.
- Assess and challenge credit proposals from the business.
- Produce high-quality credit reviews and new credit applications.
- Input financials into relevant systems (e.g., Moody’s).
- Draft and submit call reports and credit documents in line with internal standards.
- Engage with legal teams, external solicitors, and other relevant parties as required.
- Monitor credit quality of the portfolio and present findings to relevant committees, including the Corporate and Institutional Banking Risk Forum and the Branch Risk Committee.
- Maintain electronic and physical credit archives, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to internal policies.
- Provide wider support to the Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking as needed.
