CassonX are absolutely delighted to be recruiting for this prestigious Tier 1 business that is globally one of the most recognised names in Hedge Fund Community. This alternative fund manager combines relative value and direct trading, through a global macro strategy, looking to generate outstanding returns that are uncorrelated and well above the benchmarks. Boasting over 200 staff globally and managing north of €15bn in AUM, this firm rewards its staff with long term career aspirations, well above market average total compensation, a highly collegiate environment, and the chance to move internally when the opportunity arises.
CassonX must express that it is essential that every candidate who is wanting to consider this role must be able to demonstrate outstanding education, including at least a 2.1 level degree in a STEM subject from Russell Group or international equivalent, and excellent A-Levels (or international equivalents) in academic subjects. You must also be able to showcase experience in a similar Traders Assistant role, ideally from a buyside firm, but they might consider those from the sell side. You will have strong Derivatives knowledge, especially if complex products or Fixed Income focussed, and wide reaching knowledge of P&L / Product Control / Blotter Management / technical Middle Office & Risk type work. They would particularly like to identify someone with strong Rates / Structured rates knowledge coming from a Front Office environment.
Candidates will be overlooked for this role if you do not meet the educational criteria, but worth noting we do have other roles in the hedge fund community that we could consider you for. A detailed job description is available to those who showcase a relevant CV, but acting as front line support to the front office, some responsibilities include:
- Daily blotter management and both close and live P&L and risk reporting
- Booking transactions, understanding the risks and pricing of complex products
- Monitoring expiries/fixings/futures rolls – understand and present the associated P&L/risk changes
- Provide first line of support to the Investment Officers and Portfolio Traders
- Providing SME knowledge to help drive process enhancements
- Monitoring offsetting transactions and collapsing accordingly (ISDA protocols)
- Resolving administrator and counterparty queries
