The Product Manager role requires a self-motivated, driven individual with experience and expertise in the financial services industry and of dealing with industry news, research and regulation. A Product Manager is required to be a credible, experienced financial industry employee with excellent communication skills. They are required to quickly understand complex industry relationships and news, and be able to communicate clearly with Cassini clients and prospects on the latest market developments as well as on Cassini functionality. They will be required to represent Cassini at industry events, contribute to marketing campaigns with insights, and be the face of Cassini on webinars, blog posts and industry working groups and forums.

Product Managers are responsible for driving the implementation of features into the Cassini software. This may be a new commercial module, enhancements to existing modules or significant infrastructure or technical debt initiatives that require senior product experience and expertise to guide and project manage. The Product Manager will provide initial definition of new features through well-structured feature documentation, as well as expertise and guidance to Product Owners who are responsible for delivering the feature with the development team.

Role: As a Product Manager, you will report to the Head of Product Delivery (based in London).

Core Responsibilities:

  • Product: Documenting business requirements by writing clear and well-defined feature documentation for all features within their area of expertise. Coordinating Product Owner resource to deliver these features, potentially across many development teams, including project management and tracking of dependencies and delivery dates. Ensure features are built in line with Cassini’s strategic objectives and target architecture, and help unblock issues encountered by Product Owners during the delivery phase of a feature. Providing input into commercial proposals for new functional modules together with the Head of Product as part of the New Product Approval Process. Assisting Head of Product with feature scoring and prioritization for quarterly delivery planning. Ensuring externally facing documentation remains current and is available for client facing teams.
  • Client facing: Providing SME assistance and guidance to the Client Delivery team for all client implementations within their area of expertise. Providing SME assistance to Pre-Sales and Sales teams during prospect demos and presentations. Identify client problems, and translate these into potential future Cassini solutions through pre-sales calls, joining quarterly business reviews or setting up working groups with existing clients.
  • Industry Information: Tracking industry initiatives, such as new margin models, standardized documentation or regulatory updates and provide internal documentation and training to Cassini teams. Identifying and documenting industry trends in the margin and collateral space including liaising with clearing houses and exchanges. Detailing competitor analysis and the wider vendor ecosystem, including SWOT analysis, Cassini’s USPs and differentiators where applicable.
  • Marketing: Represent Cassini at industry conferences, events and forums. Contribute marketing blog posts relating to topical industry news or initiatives to ensure that Cassini is projected as a thought leader in the post-trade space. Contribute content to marketing campaigns and identify new marketing opportunities that arise from the industry news and research that you are performing.
  • Management: Some management of product team members may be expected, depending on experience level. As a small and growing firm, our employees work on a wide variety of tasks so there are many opportunities for learning new skills and methods. We are looking for somebody who is motivated not only to learn new things and work outside of their comfort zone, but who also has a good understanding of the basics and can deliver value from day one.

Required Experience: Experience working with cleared OTC, ETD or Bilateral derivatives. Expertise in Initial Margin and collateral workflows. Understanding of the post-trade software solution landscape. Experience participating in industry working groups. Some Business Analyst or Product Owner experience is also advantageous. At least 5 years experience in a finance (bank / buyside) or technology solution provider.

Qualifications & Competencies: Exceptional written and interpersonal skills when communicating internally and with clients. Strong presenting and public speaking skills. Proven ability to document feature requirements and business use cases. Problem-solving capability and the ability to convert a client problem into a technology solution. Experience speaking directly with clients. Russell group university degree (2.1 or above) in relevant fields.
