This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced omni-channel environment and enjoys the variety of designing across print, digital, retail, email, and social. The Design Manager will play a key role in shaping our visual output, ensuring brand consistency, and supporting the Head of Design in evolving our creative direction. This role is based in our London Head Office with 2 days per week working from home.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of creative assets across multiple channels including; website graphics, weekly email newsletters, social media content, in-store signage, printed marketing collateral and packaging concepts and brand collateral for internal and external use.
  • Develop visually compelling and commercially effective design solutions that support marketing campaigns, seasonal promotions, new product launches and brand storytelling.
  • Ensure all creative output meets brand guidelines, commercial requirements and is optimised for end use.
  • Oversee daily tasks, prioritisation, and workload management for yourself and two other designers.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and creative direction to support their growth and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Design to refine processes, improve efficiency, and uphold design quality across the team.
  • Act as a key point of contact, work closely with the Marketing, Ecommerce, Retail Operations, and Buying teams to understand campaign requirements, timelines, and merchandising priorities.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and support the Head of Design in developing new creative concepts and brand evolutions.
  • Maintain consistent brand identity standards across all touchpoints.
  • Help evolve and refine the brand’s visual language to better resonate with our audience of artists, hobbyists, educators, and creators.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional design experience, ideally in retail or a fast-paced in-house environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing cohesive multi-channel design across digital and print that clearly proves a strong understanding of customer journey.
  • Prior experience overseeing other designers.
  • Strong leadership instincts and a desire to mentor and support others.
  • Comfortable presenting and ‘selling’ creative concepts to all stakeholders from junior to senior members of the business - including the CEO and other board members.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Experience with creating graphics for e-commerce, email marketing, and social media.
  • Understanding of UX/UI fundamentals for web design.
  • Strong organisational abilities and experience managing multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret commercial objectives and translate them into effective design.
  • Highly collaborative, with strong communication skills.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Creative, curious, and proactive with a keen eye for emerging design trends.
