The role of Buying Assistant requires good communication skills, attention to detail, passion for product and a can do attitude. This is a fast-paced role in which you will be supporting the buying department with a focus on product data management, supplier liaison, sample management and store communication. Key to success in this role will be a strong administration skill set, coupled with the desire to learn from and support a busy department. As a growing business and department there is huge scope for progression within the team.

This role is based in our London Head Office with 2 days per week working from home.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities (include But Are Not Limited To)

  • Manage the department critical path for all product development
  • Update the range plan on a daily basis on instruction of the Buyer and ensure all data is up to date whilst holding regular checks of the data across all systems
  • Responsible for compiling and uploading all new product information onto the system and maintaining changes
  • Ensure that new suppliers are set up on the system correctly
  • Aid the ecommerce team with product imagery collation and descriptions
  • Responsible for creating all promotion and price change documents and communicating these to stores
  • Request and manage all product safety data sheets from suppliers
  • Co-ordinate all samples in and out of the business and ensure the sample cupboard is organised
  • Set up sample sales on a regular basis to clear old stock
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining all signage and product stickering
  • Respond to all queries from our Stores and Head Office regarding supplier/product information, product signage and pricing
  • Brief all product signage to the design team and ensure timely delivery to stores
  • Carry out store visits to check on product pricing, signage and promotions
  • Assist with ad-hoc administration tasks as required

Desired Knowledge Skills & Experience

  • An understanding of/ or experience of working within the Buying function
  • Experience of using excel with a knowledge of excel formulae in particular v-lookups and pivot tables
  • Able to manage their own diary to achieve priorities within timescales
  • Continually maintains high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in everything they do
  • Is willing to contribute opinions and make well thought out suggestions
  • Enjoys working with others and works as a team with colleagues
  • Flexible, able to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Attention to detail- able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise work load.
  • Passionate about art and creativity
