A leading global financial institution is undergoing a major front‑to‑back re‑platforming of its Financial Markets technology stack. As part of this multi‑year transformation, we are seeking a highly experienced Principal Business Analyst with deep expertise in trade booking, trade processing, and the end‑to‑end lifecycle of financial products.
This is a senior, hands‑on role working across multiple asset classes and technology domains, delivering strategic platform capabilities that support global trading, operations, risk, and finance functions.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic & Delivery
- Drive end‑to‑end delivery of features aligned to the organisation’s strategic front‑to‑back re‑platforming programme.
- Propose and validate solution designs that support long‑term architecture and business goals.
- Own the quality of business requirements, functional specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Business Analysis & Design
- Collaborate with Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, and Finance teams to understand business requirements across FX, Rates, Credit, and Commodities.
- Produce high‑quality design artefacts including whitepapers, functional designs, and process models.
- Work closely with architecture and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Participate in design workshops and drive consensus across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Delivery Coordination
- Partner with horizontal engineering squads to ensure features are understood, designed, and delivered across multiple systems.
- Track progress across vertical and horizontal streams, ensuring dependencies, risks, and issues are clearly managed.
- Support development and QA teams by clarifying requirements, reviewing test cases, and validating functional outcomes.
- Assist business teams during UAT planning, preparation, and execution.
- Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, delivery leads, and project managers.
- Maintain RAID items and ensure timely escalation and mitigation of issues.
- Contribute to programme governance forums and agile ceremonies as required.
- 10+ years of end‑to‑end project delivery experience in a Business Analyst role within Financial Markets.
- Strong product and trade lifecycle knowledge across multiple asset classes, with particular depth in trade booking and trade processing.
- Excellent understanding of FO to BO workflows, including Pricing, Trade Capture, Middle Office, Operations, and Finance.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and high‑quality documentation (UML/BPMN a plus).
- Solid understanding of technology concepts including logical/physical data models, APIs, integration patterns, and event‑driven architectures.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISDA FpML and CDM.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments, partnering closely with developers and testers.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity, and drive cross‑functional alignment.
