We are looking for a Product Manager to partner closely with an AI Engineering lead to shape the strategy, development, and rollout of AI‑driven workflows within a front-office environment. This role operates between AI/ML, investment research, and product development teams, requiring enough technical fluency to collaborate with engineers and vendors, paired with strong investment awareness to translate AI capabilities into practical improvements for researchers and portfolio managers.
The successful candidate will define, prioritise, and deliver AI‑enhanced tools that support fundamental Long/Short investment processes, spanning idea generation, research, risk analysis, and portfolio construction. This role requires a deep understanding of equity research workflows and the ability to convert complex AI concepts into intuitive, high‑impact products for investment professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the main link between AI/engineering teams and fundamental L/S investment professionals to identify and prioritise AI opportunities across research and portfolio management workflows.
- Establish the product vision, roadmap, and detailed requirements for AI‑enabled tools and capabilities (e.g., research copilots, document intelligence, signal discovery, workflow automation).
- Oversee the design, implementation, and integration of AI solutions into existing research platforms and portfolio management environments, ensuring smooth adoption by investment teams.
- Produce clear documentation and guidance for PMs and analysts covering use cases, limitations, evaluation criteria, and best‑practice usage of AI tools.
- Lead product demos, training sessions, and iterative feedback loops to drive engagement, measure adoption, and improve product‑market fit.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor developments, and emerging AI techniques relevant to fundamental L/S investing, translating insights into forward‑looking product initiatives.
- 3+ years working with AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics within financial services or investment‑related contexts.
- 2+ years of product management or similar product ownership experience.
- Strong understanding of fundamental equity research and the day‑to‑day workflows of Long/Short investment teams (idea generation, modelling, risk oversight, portfolio construction/monitoring).
- Experience partnering directly with investment professionals and demonstrating clear workflow or performance impact through technology.
- Ability to engage in technical conversations around AI/ML (LLMs, model evaluation, data considerations) and communicate these topics clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including comfort presenting to senior investment leaders and running hands‑on training with PMs and analysts.
- Demonstrated product thinking and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of turning loosely‑defined investment problems into adopted, shipped products.
- Interest or experience in scaling AI capabilities across a broader portfolio management and research ecosystem.
