Network Engineer - Hedge Fund

We’re seeking a Network Engineer to join a Platform Engineering team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in driving change and enhancing our global network infrastructure. You’ll play a key part in maintaining the stability and security of networks, while working closely with development teams to ensure their solutions meet high standards and best practices.

As a key member of the Platform Engineering team, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting critical systems that power the business every day. From large-scale office moves and data centre expansions to fine-tuning automation frameworks and cloud integration, you’ll be at the heart of it all.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain secure and reliable network systems, collaborating with talented engineers to make sure everything runs smoothly.
• Dive into automation, using tools like Python, Terraform, and Ansible to improve network efficiency and reliability.
• Take ownership of ongoing projects, including network upgrades, data centre deployments, and cloud connectivity initiatives.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure network solutions fit their needs and support business goals.
• Contribute to a supportive on-call rotation and help solve issues with minimal out-of-hours disruptions.

Who You Are

• An adaptable network engineer with solid experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network environments.
• Confident working with firewalls, VPNs, and data centre switching (Fortigate, Cisco, Arista) and understanding protocols like BGP, multicast, and PTP.
• Familiar with Linux environments and capable of writing scripts and automating tasks.
• Comfortable juggling project work and BAU support while keeping an eye out for opportunities to improve systems.
