We're working with a high-performing, technology-driven investment firm operating globally across Europe, North America, and Asia, hiring a Senior DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to play a pivotal role in building, automating, and operating its cloud platform. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats owning infrastructure, shaping DevOps standards, and supporting reliability across production systems rather than operating as a pure pipeline or tooling specialist.
The Role; You'll sit at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE, supporting multiple engineering teams while maintaining high technical standards across automation, security, scalability, and reliability. You'll work predominantly in Microsoft Azure, with responsibility for infrastructure as code, CI/CD, Kubernetes platforms, and production support. The environment values pragmatism, ownership, and continuous improvement over rigid process.
What You'll Be Doing
- Owning and evolving Azure-based cloud infrastructure using Terraform as the golden standard
- Overseeing and reviewing Terraform modules, standards, and CI/CD pipelines (rather than writing everything yourself)
- Designing and improving CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, YAML) to enable fast, reliable delivery
- Supporting and scaling AKS/Kubernetes environments, including production clusters
- Partnering closely with software engineers to enable smooth application delivery and platform usage
- Automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows
- Supporting SRE-style responsibilities including monitoring, reliability, and incident support
- Acting as a technical partner to development, infrastructure, and data/AI teams
- Helping shape the cloud roadmap while improving existing platforms during ongoing migrations
The Tech Environment
- Cloud: Azure (AKS, VNets, Load Balancers, Key Vault, Storage, Azure RM)
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (expert level), Spacelift; exposure to Bicep welcome
- CI/CD: Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines, ServiceNow integration
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS)
- Languages: Strong understanding of Python or C# (Python preferred for scripting)
- Version Control: GitHub/Bitbucket
- Monitoring & Observability: Modern monitoring and performance tooling
What We're Looking For
- 6-8+ years' experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE-style roles
- Strong Azure engineering background (AWS experience welcomed but Azure is core)
- Deep, practical experience with Terraform in real-world production environments
- Confidence working across infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, and production support
- Solid Kubernetes knowledge, including cluster behaviour at scale
- Ability to read, understand, and write infrastructure-adjacent code (Python/C#)
- Comfortable operating independently while collaborating in small, high-impact teams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with both engineers and business stakeholders
Why This Role?
- Genuine ownership of cloud and DevOps standards
- High technical bar with sensible working practices
- Opportunity to influence architecture, tooling, and platform direction
- Small, collaborative teams with direct impact on the business
If you're a senior DevOps or infrastructure engineer who enjoys building, improving, and operating systems - and wants to play a key role in shaping a cloud platform rather than maintaining someone else's - this would be well worth a conversation.
