Overview
We are looking for a strategic Business Analyst to support a transformation initiative aimed at improving middle and back office operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing, redesigning, and enhancing processes across cash management, collateral management, treasury operations, and manual Excel-based workflows. This is a strategic, consultative BA position, not a delivery-only role. You will be expected to bring credibility, ownership, and subject-matter expertise, helping to define a scalable future operating model and improve operational controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams across middle and back office functions.
- Lead requirements workshops, process reviews, and design discussions; consolidate insights and drive alignment.
- Analyse current-state processes across cash management, collateral, settlements, approvals, and treasury operations.
- Define future-state workflows, controls, and target operating models.
- Identify inefficiencies, manual processes, and risks within existing workflows.
- Support the migration from spreadsheet-based processes to structured, system‐driven solutions.
- Produce high-quality, visual documentation including process maps, swimlanes, user journeys, and TOM artefacts.
- Collaborate effectively with cross‐regional teams across multiple time zones.
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within middle and/or back office functions in financial services (asset management, hedge funds, or similar sectors).
- Strong understanding of cash management, collateral management, cash approvals, treasury workflows, and associated operational processes.
- Hands-on experience analysing and improving manual, Excel-heavy processes.
- Demonstrated ability to build clear and visual documentation (process flows, workflows, TOMs).
- Comfortable working in Agile or hybrid environments with limited documentation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse groups.
- Tenacious, pragmatic, and solution‐oriented.
- Self‐driven, with the ability to take ownership and push initiatives forward independently.
- Strong ability to work cross‐culturally and across global teams.
- Experience working with bespoke, in‐house, or lightly integrated operational systems.
