Contract Role: Paladign Analyst Developer/AS400 Developer
Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days onsite/week)
Rate: Up to £600/day (option to convert to permanent)
Duration: 6-month rolling contract
Overview
A leading financial institution is seeking an experienced IBM i (AS400) developer to support and enhance a bespoke version of the Paladign system used in UK wealth management. This role involves working on a highly integrated platform with touchpoints across financial reporting, order execution, portfolio management, and client reporting.
Responsibilities
Analyse business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
Develop, test, and maintain RPG-based applications in line with internal standards
Perform unit and integration testing
Manage software releases and maintain application documentation
Contribute to team-wide standards and best practices
Collaborate across IT and business teams globally
Required Skills
10+ years in Financial Services, ideally private banking
10+ years IBM i development (RPG, CL)
Proficient in fixed and free-format RPG
Familiarity with XML, MQ Series, SFTP, and SQL
Desirable Skills
- Paladign experience (update module knowledge is a plus)
Java development on IBM i
Control-M job scheduling
Turnover change control experience
Communication & Collaboration
Fluent in spoken and written English
