National Oilwell Varco UK Limited is seeking a Senior Engineer. The NOV Senior Engineer PLC is normally assigned to a specific project and is responsible for the direct supervision of the various disciplines that perform the hands-on work associated with installation/commissioning and service of all NOV supplied equipment as defined by the project's Supply Contract.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform electrical engineering assignments under direct supervision with discretion to work detail.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of engineering projects to improve the manufacturing operations and processes.
- Designs and implements control systems and panels to maintain and improve manufacturing capabilities and sustainability.
- Selects manufacturing controls equipment; prepares specifications, confers with vendors and prepares capital appropriations.
- Responsible for advising Manager, Engineering as to plant equipment needs and pending problem areas involving plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot, modify or create new controls, including PLC and other programming.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required work experience for this position:
- 10 years + of International Experience and 5 years + of NOV Equipment knowledge.
- Practical Experience in the following equipment:
- Top Drive (HPS 750)
- Hydratong (MPT 200)
- Cyberbase
- DCI
- PLC Controls (Simatic Manager, Siemens TIA)
- HMI (Cyberbase and WinCc)
- HydraRacker X-Y
- EX certified
Desirable skills and qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience on Installation and Commissioning projects.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ Years of Electrical design and/or troubleshooting in heavy machinery preferred.
- Must have experience with programming ladder logic, create and read electrical schematics, specify and size electrical components.
- Have knowledge of standard manufacturing processes and practices.
