Your local British Red Cross shop offers opportunities to volunteer in a variety of roles, from sorting stock and preparing donated items for sale to providing customer service to donors and customers. This role is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones. We are currently looking for Till and Customer Service volunteers to help us in our shop.

We need volunteers with a positive outlook who enjoy interacting with people and who are confident in learning how to use a shop till. No experience is required; full training will be provided.

Typical activities:
  • Using the shop till to take payment for items
  • Promoting Gift Aid to maximise our fundraising potential
  • Helping and advising customers
  • Carrying out general shop duties
Availability:

Volunteering is a few hours during the week or weekend, agreed with the shop manager. There is no set minimum commitment; we simply ask that you agree to attend the hours you are confident you can keep.

Health and Safety Statement:

We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment and will also discuss any adjustments you may need. This is a standard health and safety requirement for all volunteers.
