Your local British Red Cross shop offers a range of volunteering activities, from sorting stock and preparing donated items for sale to delivering customer service. It is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones.

Display & Merchandising volunteers

Use your creative skills to attract customers into our store. If you have an eye for detail and love to experiment with ideas, this opportunity may be for you.

Typical activities

  • Maintain the shop window display, updating it with special events and promotions.
  • Organise merchandise and display units on the shop floor.
  • Keep the shop well‑presented and inviting.

No experience is needed. Full training will be provided. There is no expectation to use a till or computer in this role.

When can I volunteer?

A few hours a week – agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours; we only ask you to confirm the hours you can attend and to inform us of any changes.
