Your local British Red Cross shop has a variety of activities available for volunteers to support us in. From sorting stock & preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers - we have something to suit most people’s interests. Our shops rely on our volunteers to keep them running successfully. We are currently looking for Puzzles & Games volunteers to help us in our shop. We have a wide range of games and puzzles that are regularly donated and for sale. Each one needs to be checked to ensure they are complete and can be sold - it can be frustrating if you buy a jigsaw with the last piece missing! If you have a talent for puzzle solving and an eye for detail, then this opportunity to volunteer may be for you!
The role is hybrid based between your home and the Shop. No experience is needed. Full training will be provided. Please note there is no expectation to use a till or computer in this volunteering role.
When can I volunteer?
A few hours during the week/weekend- as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours, we only ask that we agree hours you are confident you can attend and that you let us know where these hours may change.
Requirements and Skills
- No previous experience required.
- A warm smile and a friendly outlook is essential.
Health and Safety Statement
We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment and will also have a conversation with you to discuss and identify any adjustments you may need. As we take great care to ensure that all our volunteers are safe and supported, there may be some locations where we won’t be able to host 15-17 year olds. Please get in touch so that we can help you find a suitable volunteering opportunity. We welcome refugees, asylum seekers and others currently in the UK to volunteer with us. We want volunteering to be accessible to everyone and to celebrate diversity.
