Your local British Red Cross shop has a variety of activities available for volunteers to support us in. From sorting stock & preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers, we have something to suit most people’s interests. Our shop is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones. We are currently looking for General Assistant volunteers to help us in our shop.
Activities include:
- Helping behind the scenes in sorting and preparing donated stock
- Preparing attractive displays on the shop floor
- Creating exciting window displays
- Sorting donations for sale
- Meeting new people
- Checking the quality of donated items and preparing them for sale or recycling
- Ironing, cleaning, labelling and pricing items ready for sale
- Keeping the shop well organised and tidy
- General activities around the shop

Hours: A few hours during the week or weekend – as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours; we only ask that we agree on hours you are confident you can attend and that you let us know where these hours may change.
