Your local British Red Cross shop has a variety of activities available for volunteers to support us in. From sorting stock and preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers, we have something to suit most people's interests. Our shop is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones.

We are currently looking for General Assistant volunteers to help us in our shop. Activities include helping behind the scenes in sorting and preparing donated stock, and helping prepare attractive displays on the shop floor, among many other tasks.

Typical Activities
  • Checking the quality of items donated and preparing them for sale or recycling
  • Ironing, cleaning, labelling and pricing items ready for sale
  • Keeping the shop well organised and tidy
  • Performing general activities around the shop

No experience is needed. Full training will be provided. Please note there is no expectation to use a till or computer in this volunteering role.

Availability

We need a few hours during the week or weekend, as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours; we ask that you agree on hours you can attend and notify us if these change.
