Emergency Response Volunteer (Isle of Wight) When there is a fire, flood or severe weather, weโ€™re among the first to respond.

You must be located within 30 minutes of Newport Fire Station (PO30 1JQ).

This is a 24-hour service and volunteers will need to be available when on call.

We would like volunteers who; Be able to volunteer on a regular basis.

Can volunteer on a rota/shift basis for 2 x 12 hour shifts.

A minimum of 2 shifts/24 hours per month on the rota.

Have held a driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive a manual vehicle in the UK.

Be confident driving a British Red Cross vehicle, usually a van or SUV.

Are able to attend monthly team meetings in the evenings on the first Thursday of each month.

Are available to undertake required e-learning modules and online training sessions in the first few months of volunteering plus other service specific trainings as required.

Can commit to volunteering for at least 12 months.
