Your local British Red Cross shop has a variety of activities available for volunteers to support us in. From sorting stock & preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers - we have something to suit most people’s interests. Our shops rely on our volunteers to keep them running successfully.
We are currently looking for Furniture Assistant volunteers to help us in our shop. If you have a few hours a week that you can spare on a regular basis and want to help around the shop, then this could be the opportunity for you!
- Assist customers on the sales floor.
- Assist with merchandising.
- Physically be able to safely assist moving furniture in & out of the van onto the shop floor.
- Assist with accepting donations and promoting Gift Aid.
No experience is needed. Full training will be provided. There is no expectation to use a till or computer in this volunteering role.
When can I volunteer? A few hours during the week/weekend- as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours, we only ask that we agree hours you are confident you can attend and that you let us know where these hours may change. We welcome refugees, asylum seekers and others currently in the UK to volunteer with us. We want volunteering to be accessible to everyone.
