Your local British Red Cross shop has a variety of activities available for volunteers to support us in. From sorting stock and preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers – we have something to suit most people’s interests. Our shops rely on our volunteers to keep them running successfully. We are currently looking for General Assistant volunteers to help us in our shop. If you have a few hours a week that you can spare on a regular basis and want to help around the shop, then this could be the opportunity for you!
Responsibilities
- Checking the quality of items donated and preparing them for sale or for recycling
- Ironing, cleaning, labelling, and pricing the items ready for sale
- Keeping the shop well organised and tidy
- Displaying items for sale
- General activities around the shop
No experience is needed. Full training will be provided. There is no expectation to use a till or computer in this volunteering role.
Time Commitment
A few hours during the week or weekend – as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours; we only ask that you agree hours you are confident you can attend and let us know if these hours may change.
