When there is a fire, flood or severe weather, weโre among the first to respond. You must be located within 30 minutes of Colchester fire station (CO1 1XT). This is a 24-hour service and volunteers will need to be available when on call. We would like volunteers who; Be able to volunteer on a regular basis. Can volunteer on a rota/shift basis for 2 x 12 hour shifts. A minimum of 2 shifts/24 hours per month. Have held a manual driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive in the UK. Be confident driving a large British Red Cross vehicle, usually a van or SUV vehicle. Are able to attend in-person monthly team meetings. Are available to undertake required e-learning modules and online training sessions in the first few months of volunteering plus other service specific trainings as required.
