Your local British Red Cross shop offers many volunteering activities. From sorting stock and preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers, we have something to suit most people’s interests. Our shop is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones.
We are looking for General Assistant volunteers. Activities include sorting and preparing donated stock, setting attractive displays on the shop floor, and many more.
General Assistant Volunteer Typical activities:- Checking the quality of donated items and preparing them for sale or recycling
- Ironing, cleaning, labelling and pricing items ready for sale
- Keeping the shop well organised and tidy
- General shop activities
No experience is required. Full training will be provided. There is no expectation to use a till or computer in this volunteering role.
When can I volunteer?Few hours during the week or weekend, as agreed with the shop manager. No minimum commitment or fixed hours; we simply ask that you agree on hours you can attend and notify us of any changes.
