An established international business intelligence, data and events provider is creating a new senior sales leadership position to unlock the considerable potential within its global market.
The business already has highly valuable enterprise relationships, but many comparable organisations remain significantly underpenetrated or do not yet spend with the company at all.
This creates a substantial opportunity for an accomplished enterprise sales leader to build a sophisticated outbound operation and convert that whitespace into predictable, long-term revenue.
The opportunity
You will lead and develop a team of outbound sales professionals operating across the UK and US, with responsibility for two distinct revenue streams:
- Winning new logos from a defined portfolio of high-value target accounts.
- Expanding existing relationships through additional products, seats, teams and buying centres.
This is not a transactional or inbound-led sales environment.
Success will require strategic account planning, credible senior-level engagement and the ability to lead complex, multi-threaded conversations across different stakeholders, functions and territories.
You will establish the sales methodology, territory structure, prospecting standards and pipeline discipline required to build a consistently high-performing enterprise sales operation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a distributed team of quota-carrying sales professionals.
- Own the new-business and account-expansion numbers.
- Build a high-quality outbound pipeline from named target accounts.
- Develop account-based prospecting strategies by market, segment and region.
- Work alongside the team on strategically important opportunities, commercial structures and negotiations.
- Drive multi-threaded engagement across complex organisations and multiple buying centres.
- Maintain rigorous pipeline management, CRM discipline and forecasting.
- Partner with Account Management, Marketing and Product teams to strengthen positioning and accelerate revenue.
- Create energy, accountability and a visible high-performance culture across the sales function.
About you
You will have a strong record of leading outbound enterprise sales teams and delivering against demanding revenue targets. Your experience should include:
- Building pipeline proactively rather than relying on inbound leads.
- Winning new logos and expanding complex enterprise accounts.
- Coaching salespeople on prospecting, account planning, negotiation and closing.
- Leading teams across different locations, ideally including the UK and US.
- Producing reliable forecasts and maintaining strong CRM governance.
- Selling subscriptions, financial data, market intelligence, research or other information services.
