A qualified Intellectual Property lawyer with 5–10 years’ PQE to join a well-established national IP team. The role offers exposure to a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious matters, working with a diverse client base ranging from start-ups to global brands across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on the full lifecycle of IP rights including protection, registration and portfolio management
  • Drafting and prosecuting trademarks and designs, including clearance and strategy
  • Managing IP disputes and enforcement matters in the UK and internationally
  • Providing commercial advice on IP transactions and exploitation
  • Supporting litigation across relevant forums (including UKIPO, EUIPO, IPEC and High Court)
  • Advising on copyright, database rights, confidential information, trade secrets, and advertising/marketing compliance
  • Collaborating with colleagues and contributing to client development initiatives

The Candidate:

  • Qualified lawyer with 5–10 years’ PQE in Intellectual Property
  • Additional IP qualification (e.g. postgraduate diploma) desirable
  • Strong experience in trade mark and design strategy, clearance, prosecution and portfolio management
  • Experience working with UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO
  • Broad IP knowledge including trademarks, designs, copyright, database rights and trade secrets
  • Litigation experience across IP-related disputes and forums
  • Commercially minded with strong drafting and advisory skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients at all levels
  • A collaborative team player with an interest in mentoring and business development
