A qualified Intellectual Property lawyer with 5–10 years’ PQE to join a well-established national IP team. The role offers exposure to a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious matters, working with a diverse client base ranging from start-ups to global brands across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on the full lifecycle of IP rights including protection, registration and portfolio management
- Drafting and prosecuting trademarks and designs, including clearance and strategy
- Managing IP disputes and enforcement matters in the UK and internationally
- Providing commercial advice on IP transactions and exploitation
- Supporting litigation across relevant forums (including UKIPO, EUIPO, IPEC and High Court)
- Advising on copyright, database rights, confidential information, trade secrets, and advertising/marketing compliance
- Collaborating with colleagues and contributing to client development initiatives
The Candidate:
- Qualified lawyer with 5–10 years’ PQE in Intellectual Property
- Additional IP qualification (e.g. postgraduate diploma) desirable
- Strong experience in trade mark and design strategy, clearance, prosecution and portfolio management
- Experience working with UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO
- Broad IP knowledge including trademarks, designs, copyright, database rights and trade secrets
- Litigation experience across IP-related disputes and forums
- Commercially minded with strong drafting and advisory skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients at all levels
- A collaborative team player with an interest in mentoring and business development
