JOB PURPOSE
To work closely with the Head of Sales and other sales team members to develop the products and hit budgeted revenue targets, increasing volume year on year. The Commercial Manager will have proven sales and account management experience as well as an understanding of developing new business opportunities.
Principal Accountabilities
- Identify and develop new commercial opportunities with the sales team to hit agreed event sales targets.
- Nurture an existing global customer portfolio, build close customer relationships with decision makers, and use a highly consultative sales process to maintain and grow annual spend.
- Build and manage a personal sales pipeline to exceed sales targets for repeat and new business.
- Maintain the relevant sales admin and CRM systems with 100% precision for accurate forecasting (Salesforce).
- Demonstrate an interest and willingness to learn about the telecoms tower industry to understand customers’ business priorities and objectives – understanding how each company fits into the ecosystem and identifying where new opportunities may lie.
- Follow up and convert inbound leads allocated by the Head of Sales to drive new business and expand audience reach.
Key Interfaces:
- Reporting to the Head of Sales and maintaining a close relationship to develop new and existing opportunities to fulfill budgeted revenue targets.
- Working closely with the research team per event to build a sales pipeline and manage key customers.
- Building effective and profitable relationships with decision makers at key customer accounts.
- Liaising with the operations and production teams to ensure all sponsor deliverables are fulfilled.
Experience Required:
- A proven track record of hitting revenue targets, developing new business, and managing key customer accounts.
- Experience in selling event and conference solutions to a global audience, managing customers in different time zones and being sensitive to cultural differences.
- Proven success working to deadlines and prioritizing sales activities across multiple projects at any one time.
- Ability to negotiate and develop working relationships with senior decision makers.
- Demonstrable ability to learn and understand a new market sector.
- Proven ability to manage a personal pipeline with experience of CRM systems and reporting revenue to the Head of Sales.
