The Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director, Sponsorship & Marketing Solutions Sales to lead a high‑performing commercial team and drive revenue growth across our global media and events portfolio. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies across sponsorship, marketing solutions, content partnerships and events. Leading a team of sales and account management professionals, you will have overall responsibility for a commercial operation generating approximately £12 million in annual revenue. Alongside providing strategic leadership, you will maintain relationships with key accounts and play a pivotal role in driving business growth across the organisation's global media and events portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive revenue growth across sponsorship, events and marketing solutions.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of approximately 10 commercial professionals.
  • Deliver and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key strategic accounts and senior decision‑makers.
  • Increase client retention, recurring revenue and multi‑year partnership agreements.
  • Oversee pipeline management, forecasting and sales performance reporting.
  • Work closely with marketing, operations and client success teams to maximise commercial opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities and drive market share growth across key technology and telecoms sectors.
  • Contribute to annual planning, forecasting and broader business strategy.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven commercial leadership experience within B2B media, events or marketing services.
  • Strong track record of delivering multi‑million‑pound revenue targets.
  • Experience leading both account management and new business sales teams.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship‑building capabilities.
  • Experience engaging with senior executives and C‑suite decision‑makers.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, international environment.
